ASIF BRAIN WAVES · INDICATOR GUIDE
ABW Multi-Timeframe FVG displays confirmed gaps from your chart timeframe and one higher timeframe in one overlay. It records where a gap formed; it does not maintain a list of unfilled trading zones.

How to Add the Indicator
- Open the linked TradingView publication and sign in to your TradingView account.
- Read the current description and release notes, then select Use on chart.
- Use standard candlesticks. Open the indicator settings and check the timeframe, visibility and retention controls relevant to this tool.
- Review historical examples before using the display in your own analysis. Chart capacity and market-data access depend on your TradingView account.
How the gap is defined
A bullish gap requires candle 3’s low above candle 1’s high. A bearish gap requires candle 3’s high below candle 1’s low. Equality does not qualify. Candle 2 has no required colour or body size. No additional displacement, volume, trend or minimum-gap filter is applied.
Two layers, separate confirmation
Local gaps appear after the chart’s third candle closes. Higher-timeframe gaps become available on the first chart update of the next HTF period using confirmed source candles. A session break can delay that update. A box drawn over earlier candles was not available before its source confirmed.
Automatic timeframe mapping
The automatic map is 1m → 15m, 3m → 30m, 5m → 1H, 15m → 4H, 1H → 1D, 4H → 1W and 1D → 1M. Only one HTF layer is shown. A manual override must be strictly higher than the chart; unsupported automatic intervals need a valid manual choice or the HTF layer disabled.
Why the boxes stay fixed
Every box begins at source candle 1’s open and ends at source candle 3’s close. It does not extend forward, shrink or disappear after a fill. Blue and red represent formation direction. A visible box does not establish that price has not returned to the gap.
Retention settings
Recent mode is on by default. The default quotas are 5 local bullish, 5 local bearish, 3 HTF bullish and 3 HTF bearish boxes. Each group is independent and accepts 0–125. A group set to zero is hidden. With recent mode off, a combined historical limit of 1–500 applies instead.
Read the source labels
The top-right labels identify the gap source. For example, on a daily chart, 1D marks a daily formation and M marks a monthly formation. On a 15-minute chart, compare local 15-minute gaps with the mapped 4H layer. Keep confirmation timing distinct from the earlier formation window.
Suitable charts and limits
Use standard time-based candlestick charts. Synthetic and tick charts are unsupported. The indicator provides no entries, exits, alerts or performance guarantees. Available history, source data and retention settings determine what is displayed. Review both source candles and later price action before drawing conclusions.
Before You Rely on a Chart Mark
Check when the information became available, which source timeframe it uses and whether the drawing records a historical pattern or an active state. Use the current TradingView publication as the reference for settings and release changes. None of these tools guarantees a market reaction or profitable result.
