ABW T2 FVG: Tap & Continuation Guide

ASIF BRAIN WAVES · INDICATOR GUIDE

ABW T2 FVG isolates tap-triggered continuation sequences on the current chart timeframe. T2 is this script’s classification, not a universal definition of every continuation gap.

How to Add the Indicator

  1. Open the linked TradingView publication and sign in to your TradingView account.
  2. Read the current description and release notes, then select Use on chart.
  3. Use standard candlesticks. Open the indicator settings and check the timeframe, visibility and retention controls relevant to this tool.
  4. Review historical examples before using the display in your own analysis. Chart capacity and market-data access depend on your TradingView account.

First identify the parent FVG

A bullish FVG requires the current candle’s low to be strictly above the high two candles earlier. A bearish FVG uses the opposite separation. Equal prices do not qualify. The script tracks earlier gaps internally even though only qualifying T2 boxes are drawn.

The tap must come before the new gap

A later candle taps a parent when its range touches or overlaps that zone. The formation candle cannot tap its own gap. A subsequent same-direction FVG can activate T2 only on a later bar than the tap. No swing break, BOS or MSS is required by this classification.

Continuation and reset

Once T2 is active, additional same-direction FVGs remain T2 without needing another parent tap each time. An opposite-direction FVG ends the sequence. That direction-change gap is not T2; a later qualifying tap-and-gap sequence is needed to start again.

Parent boundary example

Before activation, a wick crossing the far boundary removes the parent: below a bullish parent’s bottom or above a bearish parent’s top. An equal touch is allowed. A boundary breach is not treated as a valid tap. Once the sequence is active, its continuation is controlled by FVG direction.

Settings to start with

Defaults retain 10 recent T2 boxes and extend each box 5 bars after confirmation. Parent tracking defaults to 100 gaps. Retention can be adjusted from 1–50 boxes; width from 0–50 bars; tracked parents from 10–300. Appearance and English timeframe labels are configurable.

What a historical box means

The box is created when the gap confirms. Its left edge starts two bars earlier to show the pattern origin; it was not a signal available then. A later fill does not automatically remove the box. Retained drawings are historical detections, not a live inventory of untouched opportunities.

Practice and alerts

Find one parent, mark the later tap and then the confirming same-direction gap. Follow the sequence until an opposite gap resets it. The publication provides separate bullish and bearish T2 alert conditions; create the desired alert in TradingView with Once Per Bar Close. This tool does not project higher timeframes or execute orders.

Before You Rely on a Chart Mark

Check when the information became available, which source timeframe it uses and whether the drawing records a historical pattern or an active state. Use the current TradingView publication as the reference for settings and release changes. None of these tools guarantees a market reaction or profitable result.
